How homeowners shop for impact windows

An impact window job is a large purchase, and the research starts weeks before the first call. Homeowners compare frame materials and glass, look up whether a product carries Florida or Miami-Dade approval, ask whether new openings could lower their insurance after a wind mitigation inspection, and check how financing works. Most of that reading happens on a phone.

A window company that answers those questions clearly on its own site earns the call. One that shows a gallery and a phone number leaves the homeowner to learn from a competitor or a manufacturer page.

What we built for Modern Window Solutions

Modern Window Solutions is David Gallo's impact window and door company in Hollywood. When we started, Google had trouble crawling and indexing the company's site, and it was effectively invisible in search. We built a large Astro site on Cloudflare Pages with service pages, city pages and service by city pages across South Florida, before and after project sections, LocalBusiness schema with the owner's photo, an llms.txt file for AI tools, and quote request tracking in Google Analytics.

The figures above come from Google Search Console. The full build and its windows are in the Modern Window Solutions case study.

The pages a window company needs

A strong window company site reads like a patient sales rep. We plan it around these page types:

  • ✓One page per product line you install, such as windows, entry doors and sliding glass doors, with the brands you carry
  • ✓Plain explainers on product approvals and code requirements in the counties you serve
  • ✓Insurance and financing pages that explain how wind mitigation inspections and payment plans work, without promising a discount
  • ✓City pages only where you install, each with something true about that city, never a swapped name
  • ✓A project gallery of real installs, with any illustration labeled as one
  • ✓A quote form that asks for the number of openings and the address, so your estimator calls prepared

Window company marketing around storm season

Atlantic hurricane season runs from June through November, and interest in storm protection rises when a storm is in the news. A page written the week a storm is named is too late to rank. We plan seasonal content and Google Business Profile updates in the spring, so your pages have time to be found when homeowners start reading.

Questions are getting longer, too. One search where Modern Window Solutions reached Google's top 10 between 27 July and 24 October 2026 asked which companies install impact windows that cut down street noise for a home near a busy road in Hollywood. That reads like a question typed into an AI tool, and it is answered by a page that talks about noise, not just storms.

Your Google profile and reviews

For a window company, the Google Business Profile often gets the first look before the website does. We set the primary category to match what you mainly sell, list each product and service, add photos from real installs every month, and keep hours, service areas and links matched to the site. Map results lean toward businesses close to the person searching, so the profile does the most for homes near your verified address, and the website carries you into the rest of your service area.

Reviews matter here more than in most trades, because the ticket is large and the homeowner is trusting you with the outside of the house. We set up a simple way to ask every finished customer for an honest review and to reply to each one. We never buy reviews or filter out unhappy customers before they can post.

What we need from you

Good window company marketing is built from your real business, so we ask for a few things early: the product lines and brands you carry, the counties and cities you actually install in, photos from recent jobs, and how your estimators like quote requests to arrive. With those in hand we can write pages that sound like your company instead of a catalog.

We report the soft months too

Not every month goes up. In the latest 28 days, Modern Window Solutions had fewer impressions than in its first 28 days after launch, and we would rather tell you that than hide it. When a number drops we explain why we think it moved and what we are changing. That is the same report you would get.
